The first webinar of the 2012 LGI Webinar Series focused on the initial step to finding opportunities for collaboration - getting units of goverment together to talk about it. The webinar featured three speakers who shared their experiences with local forums that were established specifically to promote inter-government cooperation and collaboration.

In this workshop we identify the changing role of government in our communities, explore the foundations of an effective partnership, discuss the conditions that are most conducive to public-private partnerships, and explore a variety of alternative strategies to government service delivery. The Local Government Institute of Wisconsin, in partnership with the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence, put on this one day conference for state and local government officials that focused on tools and principles to improve quality, cost effectiveness, service delivery and responsiveness to the public.

The Local Government Institute of Wisconsin, in partnership with the UW - Extension's Local Government Center, hosted a leadership workshop designed for local government leaders on April 28, 2011 at eleven sites across the state.
