01/20/10 - Municipal Consolidations in Wisconsin: A WisLine Presentation

On February 16, 2010 the University of Wisconsin Extension Local Government Center will host a discussion by two local government officials who have attempted municipal consolidations in Wisconsin and a state official who reviewed those efforts.  Anyone is welcome to participate from a WisLine location at your local County Extension office.  Material and digital audiostreams are available if you are not able to attend but interested in the program.  Read more for registration info.
 
 February 16, 2010 – “Municipal Consolidations in Wisconsin” – (#1770-4) – Part of the Local Government Center “Current Issues affecting Local Government officials” WisLine series.  Tight budgets have local governments examining financing and service delivery alternatives, sharing services and possible municipal consolidations. Find out about Wisconsin’s history of statutory requirements for municipal consolidation in Wisconsin. Hear from two different municipalities about their experiences with consolidation.
